Hudson’s Hope is situated on the bank of the Peace River as it flows out to the Rocky Mountain foothills of NE British Columbia. This town of about 1100 people is located on highway 29, 90 km west of Fort St. John and 66 km north of Chetwynd.

This part of the beautiful Peace River Valley has an abundance of wildlife and offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including boating, fishing, hunting, hiking, ATV’ing, golfing, and cross-country skiing.

Dinosaur Tracks

The Hudson’s Hope area is one of the richest sites of fossils and dinosaur footprints in the world. The Hudson’s Hope Museum fossil display is one of the finest collections in the Peace River area.

A 30-minute trail through a beautiful Old Growth Management Area, located on a steep slope above Dinosaur Lake.

W.A.C. Bennet Dam

Visit the WAC Bennett Dam, one of the largest earth fill dams in North America! The visitor Centre has interactive exhibits and displays, as well as a guided tour.

Peace Canyon Dam

The smaller of the two dams on the Peace River, with a viewing deck perfect for taking photos and learning about hit’s history.

Hudsons Hope Museum

Hudson’s Hope is one of the oldest settlements in BC, so if history is your thing, try the local museum for displays of artifacts from the pioneer days, including the trapping coal and placer mining industries. The area also has some of the richest sites of fossils and dinosaur footprints in the world!

An activity-filled green space perfect for a picnic in the park, with tables, a gazebo and playground. On Tuesdays in the summer find the Farmer’s Market here!
